Daventry Hill School will open in September 2016, providing desperately needed high quality places for local children and young people (4-18) with a range of Special Educational Needs, specifically Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The school will open in well-designed and extended buildings with specialist facilities and be in easy travelling distance of the town centre. The Academy Trust (Education Excellence for All) continues to enjoy the full support of local authority partners who have worked with us to develop our plans and have committed to commissioning places at the school. It is currently proposed that the school will open accepting children at Reception, Year 3, Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. The school will then grow each year until full in 2019 with 175 pupils.
Reporting to the Executive Headteacher, you are likely to be currently working as a successful Head or Deputy/Assistant Head and be a key member of the SLT in a Good or Outstanding school. You will be recognised as an inspirational leader with a deep-rooted commitment to improving life chances for all under your care. As this is new provision, you will need to mould a team of professionals into a cohesive whole and build strong links that capitalise on the already strong support of the local community.
Enthusiastic, visionary and entrepreneurial, your ideas for ‘Outstanding’ education will be fully supported by the Trustees of the school. The successful candidate, together with the Executive Principal, will be held to account to deliver the best education and care for our children and young people. This position will be a career-defining move for the right person as we expect and require Daventry Hill School to become a beacon of best practice in its field.
