Currently ranked 8th in British University & College Sport, Team Northumbria are continually striving to deliver excellence in performance sport and are expanding their support team.
This is a great opportunity to work in a leading role within performance support services in a multi-sport environment. Reporting to the High Performance Sport Manager, the successful candidate will manage a team of strength and conditioning coaches who will be responsible for the physical development of all Team Northumbria student athletes. You will create an optimal training environment and provide a world class strength and conditioning service for athletes. Team Northumbria Athletes will vary in ages and ability ranging from talented young athletes to Olympic/Paralympic level.
You will be a highly motivated leader with a passion for high performance sport. You will evidence achievements gained during your experience working in a performance sport environment in a University, professional club or NGB level, with both team sports and individual athletes. You will have first class communication skills and ability to effectively coach and mentor others. You will also have excellent planning, organisation and administrative skills. Your practical experience will be supported by UK Strength and Conditioning Association Accreditation (Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach) and evidence of CPD from past 2 years.
