Job Description
Main Objectives
•To plan and prepare and implement well-structured and inclusive physical activity sessions.
•To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance registers; input data into reports, carry out risk assessments, monitor and evaluate assessment of sessions.
•To be responsible for Kinder + programme, Motiv8 and Extra Time projects.
•To be responsible for the promotion of the health and wellbeing programmes.
•To work in partnership with commissioners, funders, sponsors and external deliverers to support the success of programmes.
•To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post.
•To support and report to the Health and Wellbeing Manager as required.
•To undertake every opportunity to promote a positive image of Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education Trust.
•To positively promote the Trust’s Equal Opportunities policy and core values in all aspects of the post’s responsibilities and duties.
•To be prepared to regularly carry out work during curriculum time, after school hours and evenings.
•To maximise opportunities to raise awareness of the organisations activities.
•To ensure that the safety of participants, volunteers and staff is prioritised at all times.
•Perform other duties as required which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education Trust.
Summary of Duties
•To coordinate Health and Wellbeing programmes delivery from the planning stages of working with partners and promotions, dealing with enquires and bookings, delivering the programme and completing administrative duties required for reporting for monitoring and evaluation.
Person Specification
Essential
•At least one year’s experience of sports coaching and/ or fitness instructing to groups of young people.
•Minimum Level 2 Coaching Qualification or Level 2 REP’s qualification. GCSE’S including English and Maths A-C First Aid qualified Full UK Drivers Licence and access to own car, must be insured for business use. Enhanced Barring & Disclosure clearance to be completed.
•Experience of working with children
•Good communication skills, both verbal and written
•Ability to adapt sessions appropriately dependent on the needs of young people.
•Ability to inspire, motivate and encourage young people through sport and physical activity.
•Good team worker and self-motivated.
•An ability to demonstrate good administrative and IT skills.
•Ability to develop good working relationships with staff
•A willingness to be flexible in the hours worked
•Willing to work unsociable hours
•A demonstrable record of implementing Equal Opportunity policies and activities
Desirable
•Experience of managing projects simultaneously
•Demonstrable experience in multi-agency working and community engagement
•Strong communicator and presentation skills
•Project management qualification
•Educated to degree level
•Experience of working in a wide range of environments including schools, and community settings
•Experience of teaching/ instructing/ coaching to a wide variety of audiences (adults, children, disability)
•Hold a variety of coaching qualifications
•Multi Skills or Fundamentals qualification
