HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Cymru Wales is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the RYA Cymru Wales Performance Programme: a leading zone and home country performance sailing programme within Great Britain.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering the performance elements of the RYA Cymru Wales Strategic Plan which aims to ensure the success of Welsh athletes in national and international competition and support more Welsh athletes competing for the British Sailing Team at all levels.
You will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of a strong and sustainable performance pathway within Wales and work as part of the RYA’s British Youth Sailing team to deliver the UK wide remit of ‘developing the best young racing sailors in the world’.
The High Performance Manager operates a significant portion of the RYA Cymru Wales budget. Within this and working closely with the volunteer led performance committee, you will oversee the delivery of a programme supporting 6 regional squads, 7 national youth and junior squads an elite academy programme for the best performing youth sailors in Wales.
Applicants
You will have a background in national or international competition either as an athlete or coach and experience of working within a national level coaching team. You will have experience within the high performance aspect of a sport that has an Olympic pathway and an understanding of talent identification, selection and long term athlete development.
You are already a self-starter capable of working independently and also as a supportive member of a dynamic and energetic staff team in the RYA Cymru Wales office.
You have excellent project management skills and a track record of managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
The role involves considerable travel across Wales and the UK as well as occasional travel to international locations. Consequently a full clean UK driving licence is essential as is the availability to work flexibly including a number of evenings and weekends throughout the year.
Salary available on application. Permanent (Full time)
