Job Description
Initial contract length: 12 months
(Extension subject to further external funding secured each year)
Overall Job Purpose
This post will develop and deliver quality provision for people over the age of 50, with a particular focus on mental health and sporting memories. The post will be expected to develop links with local community groups to deliver a range of opportunities for these target audiences to gain opportunities to get involved in physical and social activities.
The post holder will have experience of delivering sports sessions and mental health provision, whilst having experience of coordinating projects.
The post holder will also have experience of putting work plans together and be able to record data and produce reports when needed.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and deliver a multi sports programme to get people, over the age of 50, more active and involved in regular sporting activities.
• Coordinate and deliver a mental health provision, working with Sporting Memories to use the power of sport and football to engage.
• Work with the British Legion to engage ex-serviceman into regular activity.
• Provide cover for community sport coaches as and when required.
Personal Specification
Qualifications
• At least 1 Level 2 NGB coaching qualification.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Car owner.
Experience/Attributes
• Relevant experience of delivering a range of sports coaching sessions, within a sports development environment.
• Working within partnership and multi-agency programmes.
• Working with adults.
• Activity planning, project management and staff management.
• Experience of writing reports and excellent IT skills.
Special Conditions
• Post holder must be available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when needed.
• Post holder must have a valid driving license and use of vehicle to carry sports and classroom equipment to sessions.
• Casual user car allowance will be included for business use.
• Post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
