Job Purpose
City in the Community Foundation currently have an exciting opening for an Insights Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will lead on the collection, analysis and reporting of monitoring and outcomes data across CITC. Leading a small team, they will support project managers to set appropriate delivery targets, track progress against KPIs, develop and implement outcomes measurement tools, and carry out project reviews based on the results of this data collection and analysis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team in a key management role driving CITC’s insight profile and supporting the charity’s wider strategic aims.

Accountabilities include:
• The management and ongoing development of CITC’s outcomes framework, alongside
the roll-out of new PLCF-required outcomes measures in 2019-20
• Development of ambitious but realistic KPIs and outcomes indicators tailored to
individual project aims and objectives, and to track progress against these
• Development of quantitative and qualitative tools to support the measurement of
project outcomes and impact, and to gain participant feedback on their engagement
with CITC
• Outputs, outcomes and impact analysis to support managers to review projects, feed
into funder and partner reports, and support Comms around their promotion of CITC’s
work
• On-the-job training to Insights staff where needed and development for the wider CITC
team to support their use of relevant data systems, and to improve their
awareness/understanding of the importance of outcomes and impact measurement

Scope of Job
The Insights Manager role is an integral part of CITC’s team, alongside the Operations Department and the Fundraising and Partnerships team. The role has line management responsibility for an Insights Officer who, in turn, has day-to-day line management responsibility for the rest of the team.
So we are looking for an Insights expert, who as a minimum will have; a relevant qualification or equivalent experience in an M&E/insights role, substantial experience of outputs, outcomes and impact measurement, both qualitative and quantitative techniques, experience of developing project KPIs and outcomes indicators and using online monitoring systems for data recording and reporting. They should also be competent in designing questionnaires and other feedback/outcomes measurement tools and conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups. Finally, a good understanding of GDPR legislation and how this affects data collection, storage and use is now essential.
It’s crucial that applicants are positive, flexible and pragmatic and able to work in a high-paced environment. A friendly, open manner is also essential due to the wide range of stakeholders that the team engage with.
We’d be especially keen to hear from you if you have experience or knowledge of the charitable/voluntary sector, an understanding of community-based sports programmes, experience of delivering internal development training and experience in using SPSS or other quantitative analysis packages.
