Following the recent review and restructure of the School Improvement Service in Wakefield, we are now looking to recruit someone to lead the team of school improvement advisers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team working to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people in our care. The School Improvement Service works in partnership with its schools, and academies to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of education for all learners so that we can meet our target of all schools being good or better schools. You will have the drive energy and challenge to work with us to deliver these outcomes.
We are looking to appoint a person who:
Has the professional knowledge, expertise and experience to work successfully with headteachers, governors, senior leaders including multi academy trust CEOs, and teachers.
Is able to lead teams and manage performance.
Has excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Can take a strategic lead in developing a team to work with primary schools across the district and ensure smooth transition from early years sector to our secondary schools.
Can support effective links between schools, the local authority and other agencies.
You will:
Have already had successful leadership experience as a headteacher in the primary phase, in local authorities or in national organisations.
Have a good knowledge of the inspection framework and may be an accredited Ofsted inspector.
Have a record of successful school improvement outcomes across a range of schools.
