We are seeking someone who is positive, self-motivated and enthusiastic to join the performance sport team as the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach. You will perform a key role within the department, leading, implementing and reviewing the strength and conditioning strategy through collaborative working across the performance team.
You will be responsible for the overall strategy and management of the S&C service to University performance teams, scholarship athletes and external groups alongside providing high level technical S&C expertise to ensure consistent outstanding quality of service. You will work closely with the Performance Team to provide interdisciplinary support and contribute to policy and process development including strategies to optimise performance and be ultimately responsible for income generation and external partnership development within the area of strength and conditioning.
Your role will involve managing a team of coaches and being responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive programme of support for designated target sports and athletes. As the successful candidate you will have experience of strategic planning, implementation and review of strength and conditioning programmes for performance athletes as well as a proven ability to analyse a range of sports in relation to their biomechanical needs.
With a proven track record in managing others to deliver performance success, you will need to possess the ability to communicate effectively to influence a range of stakeholders whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver improved athlete performance.
You will possess a qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in sports science, specialising in the area of physical preparation of elite athletes and hold UKSCA accredited coach status. Additionally, you will need to be flexible in your approach to the working week, noting that early morning, evening and weekend work will regularly be required.

This is a full time, permanent position.
Please note, due to the nature of performance sport and athlete timetables, the post holder will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends at different times and will therefore need to be flexible around this requirement.
