Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire, spread across two main campuses – one in the heart of the lively market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on an 850-acre estate at Brooksby.
The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement and our objective is to be judged an “Outstanding” College within the next five years. As part of this journey, both our campuses have undergone a £27m redevelopment, bringing new facilities and improved environments for all our students and staff.
The college has seen significant investment in practical and teaching facilities within the Sport department benefitting from brand new state of the art facilities. We are proud of the fact that our student achievement is the highest in the East Midlands for 16-18 year olds across all levels and is the 3rd highest for level 3 provision.
Further developments are in plan to expand sporting facilities due to the significant increase in student numbers. The sports department continues to grow through our excellent relationships with elite sport including Mansfield Town Football Club, Leicester Women’s FC and Leicester Tigers Rugby Academy. Furthermore, our growing and reputable higher education course includes an FDSc and BSc Sports Science degree validated by the University of East Anglia, which provides excellent industry experiences.
We are seeking to recruit a lecturer in sports programmes, who is able to deliver on the Level 2, Level 3 Sport and Sport Science programmes and to inspire young people to complete their studies, including young elite athletes in a range of areas in sport.
The successful applicant will be tutoring Leicester Tigers AASE and Development rugby students who have additional pressures and commitments to generic students, so understanding this and being able to manage these students effectively would be essential. The salary attached to this role will be £22,282 – £24,351 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
