JOB DESCRIPTION
POST TITLE BJA: Membership Officer
DEPARTMENT: Membership
REPORTS TO: Membership & Customer Service Manager
ROLE GRADE: Grade (TBA)
LOCATION: British Judo Head Office, Loughborough

SCOPE
The Membership Officer will provide efficient and effective support to the Membership & Customer Service Manager and the Operations Director to assist in the administration of accurate membership.

The post holder will work proactively, as part of the membership team, to enable the effective and timely operation of membership and member grades. They will actively contact members to renew their membership in line with the Associations aims of increasing membership numbers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Uphold, advocate and comply with the BJA’s values and behaviours.
• Provide highly effective and courteous service is provided to staff, visitors, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• To enter data accurately in line with the guidelines set out by the Associations data protection policy.
• Provide high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure staff expenses and invoices are paid in a timely and effective manner.
• To be available to support other departments when possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
1. Administer membership and resolve any issues that prevent or delay processing.
2. Administer grades, following the guidelines of the grade syllabus.
3. Administer club applications, ensuring that the BJA area committees are consulted in new club applications.
4. Processing payments and balancing own and team audits.
5. Maintain accurate member details and member achievements.
6. Provide high quality customer service by phone, letter email and face to face.
7. To ensure stock levels at head office are maintained and to report to Membership Manager when stock levels are low.
8. To provide any reports required by the Membership Manager or any senior staff.
9. To greet any visitors and ensure they are directed to the correct meeting rooms.

1. The post holder must maintain an appropriate standard of confidentiality and comply with the BJA’s Company Rules, Policies and Procedures.
