Multi Sports Coach – GLL

Job Description
GLL is growing and we’re now looking for a casual Multi Sport Coach based at The Sands Centre in Carlisle, Cumbria. This role is part of the community development team, who in 2019, delivered sessions to over 2000 children aged 4-11 years across 25 primary schools in Cumbria as well as 2900 children over the holiday periods.
As a Multi Sports Coach, you’ll deliver curriculum PE sessions in primary schools during term time plus assist with the delivery of holiday schemes and evening / weekend community sessions which include Saturday sports clubs, mini athletics and Tuesday multi-sport club. You’ll deliver these sessions in a variety of settings ranging from leisure centres and community centres to primary and secondary schools as well as outdoor sessions. With the freedom to plan and deliver your own sessions, you’ll be able to explore new avenues as you work with the Community Sports Manager. Your great communication skills will help you build working relationships with our partners as you work together to create long-term delivery plans.
You’ll have experience of sports coaching in a variety of settings as well as a level 2 National Governing Body Coaching qualification in at least one sport and a Level 1 NGB qualification in another sport. A Multi skills qualification is desirable but not essential. Ideally, you’ll have an up to date First Aid qualification and attended a Safeguarding course in the last 3 years.
