British Triathlon is the National Governing Body for Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon in Great Britain, responsible for raising the profile and delivering medal-winning performances and helping everyone discover, enjoy and achieve in triathlon.
Triathlon England is one of the three Home Nations of British Triathlon, the other two being Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon. The three Home Nation Associations are responsible for all aspects of triathlon in their respective countries, and contribute to the work of British Triathlon.
The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) is a registered Charity based in Broom, Warwickshire and is responsible for drowning prevention, water safety education and the sport of Lifesaving.
RLSS UK is the leading provider of vocational and non-vocational water safety training in the UK and is the UK’s leading provider of pool lifeguard training. Leading on Drowning Prevention RLSS UK run a wide range of targeted campaigns to help reduce the number of people losing their lives in water each year.
In recent years’ open water swimming has been the subject of rapid growth and there is an increasing demand for opportunities to access, train, achieve and compete in the sport.
British Triathlon/Triathlon England and The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) have jointly recognised the positive impact of this growth and the need for improved advice and guidance coupled with dedicated services to support continued success and growth. This partnership is being developed to further promote and develop open water swimming, to contribute to the sport’s growth, provide appropriate resources and to support the development of standards to ensure a safe and compelling experience.
We are on the lookout for a National Open Water Development Manager to help create and drive a joint strategy recognising and blending the respective roles of RLSS UK and British Triathlon/Triathlon England. You will join us at an exciting time and create, develop and deliver a collaborative strategy. We are looking for a self-motivated achiever with proven project management skills who is experienced at establishing and managing complex relationships. The role will be based at the British Triathlon headquarters located at Loughborough University and/or RLSS UK Head Office, Warwickshire however the nature of the role will require evening and weekend working and occasional travel.
