JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Purpose of Post
The Neighbourhood Sport Officer plays a key role in the delivery of Manchester’s Club development Strategy and Neighbourhood sports programme which will support people who are already active to remain active. The post holder will be working across a given area of the city (North, Central or South) supporting club and neighbourhood activity at a local level.
The post holder will demonstrate strong partnership working with key stakeholders across the Club and neighbourhood sports landscape including representatives from Sport England, facility operators, parks teams, community groups, sports clubs and volunteers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
To develop an area based Neighbourhood Sports Plan (North, Central, South) in collaboration with partners.
To manage the area based elements of Manchester’s Coach Development Programme .
To ensure the Volunteering Strategy for Manchester is adopted at an area level.
To develop a series of Active Networks Forums at a locality level engaging residents.
To establish and maintain working relationships with the area based Parks and Neighbourhood Teams.
To commission an area based Holiday Sport Programme.
To manage the area based elements of Manchester’s Community Grant Funding Programme.
To quality assure all clubs and organisations on an area basis in relation to the MCRactive
Safeguarding guidelines.
To provide support and guidance to local community clubs on a needs led basis.
To manage budgets as and when required and produce financial reports where appropriate.
To attend community groups including Area Youth Partnership Meetings and Area Sports Forums.
To produce monitoring reports for partners and stakeholders where appropriate.
To develop grant funding applications with local clubs and organisations on a needs led basis.
To engage with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure the highest standard of delivery.

Essential
1. Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office).
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

5. Experience of project management.
6. Good problem solving and decision making skills.
7. Customer service skills and experience of dealing with members of the public.
8. The ability to oversee the Delivery of High Quality Services.
9. The ability to explore innovative ways of working
10. Knowledge of Local, Regional and National Sport and Leisure Landscape.
11. Knowledge of Manchester Neighbourhoods.
12. An agile and flexible mindset with the ability and aspiration to help and support all colleagues across the organisation.
13. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
14. Excellent time management skills.
15. Self-motivation and personal drive to complete tasks to required time scales.
