Location: Northern Region
Hours: Part time, 10 Hours per week.
Salary: Band 2 (Coaching) £20,910 – £30,110 (FTE)
This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing as we focus in on delivering our strategy for Tokyo 2020. In the last four years, British athletes have won multiple World Cup, European Championship, World Championship and Olympic medals in Canoe Slalom. British Canoeing has an aspiration to deliver even more medals at more championship events and to inspire the next generation of paddlers through exceptional performances.
The role will operate within the British Canoeing Athlete Pathway Framework, supporting the development of a sustainable regional infrastructure for talented paddlers throughout England. They will play an important role in delivering a stronger talent pool with an increase in numbers and depth of paddler and enables every athlete to fulfil their potential and establish a sporting habit for life.
The primary remit of the Regional Talent coach will be to support the England Slalom Talent Programme in the Northern region, providing coaching delivery to identified England Talent Programme athletes selected to the Northern Regional Talent Academy squad.
They will provide a key link between British Canoeing and the clubs in the Region, therefore successful candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of the skills required by a Coach operating at Slalom Coach Award level and above, as well as experience of operating in a club environment with young people and volunteers.
