Job Description
The ISEH is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Operations and Development Manager, with an interest in sport, exercise and health promotion.
The ISEH is a partnership between the British Olympic Association, the English Institute of Sport, HCA Healthcare UK, UCL and UCLH. The ISEH is one of three locations forming the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), a major legacy project of the 2012 London Olympic Games. A £10m investment by the DoH has resulted in a dedicated state-of-the art facility in the centre of London.
The Institute’s mission is to deliver excellence in the elite sports performance, and in sports injury prevention and management.
ISEH is hosted by Surgical Specialties; a large division, encompassing Trauma & Orthopaedics, Head & Neck, Urology and Thoracic Surgery across a number of sites, including; UCH, Westmoreland Street, 170 Tottenham Court Road and the Macmillan Cancer Centre.
Reporting to the Clinical Director of the ISEH and the Divisional Manager of SSD, the Operations and Development Manager will lead on the effective operational delivery of the various activities within the unit, including; NHS clinical activity (orthopaedic and sport clinics) research, academia (including courses run by UCL and the interface with our researchers), the laboratory and associated equipment. This also includes contract management with partnering organisations based in the unit.
The post holder will oversee marketing campaigns and continue to develop the ISEH brand – including organising and attending events and ensuring social media presence across a number of platforms. This also includes the identification and development of new markets and opportunities for income generation and sponsorship.
A sound understanding of finance and a track record of effective budget management is strongly desirable.
The role also requires someone with exemplary communication skills, who is comfortable presenting to a range of stakeholders and is able to build strong working relationships with colleagues both within UCLH / UCL and with colleagues across a number of external organisations encompassing health, education, 3rd sector, commercial sector and professional sport organisations.
