Alongside his eponymous antiques business and leather, wallpapers and fabric shop, Christopher Howe has established a burgeoning bespoke furniture and lighting business which complements his design ethos of making the very best of classical design redefined for the modern era with a true dedication to craftsmanship.
There is an opportunity for a highly organised and meticulous administrator to join the HOWE team.
We are now looking for a new member of the team to process orders to ensure that bespoke items are delivered to customers exactly according to specification, within budget and on time.
This involves liaising closely with other members of the Howe team who will have made a sale and taken an initial order from the client.
Once the specification is agreed you will be responsible for scheduling the making of furniture and other items with our team of highly skilled craftsmen and cabinet makers across the country. You will get to know how each one works and their individual areas of expertise; you will be familiar with their current workloads and you will talk to them on a regular basis to ensure that they make progress in line with expected delivery dates. You will need to be confident and supportive as you see jobs progress from concept to delivery, skilled at answering questions and sorting out any problems that may arise from both clients and makers.
This is a full-time position with occasional Saturdays in the shop.
