Sports Coach / Activity Professional Pioneer Sports Academy – Join us on our mission to tackle childhood obesity. The rate of childhood obesity is increasingly on the rise, so much so that 1 in 5 children leave primary school obese. Not only does this place tremendous pressure on the NHS, it significantly reduces the quality of a life a child has. Obese children have lower levels of confidence and self esteem and are at higher risk of being bullied due to their weight. Studies have shown that healthier and more active children perform better at school.
We are looking positive role models that can help to inspire children to lead active and healthier lives. You will not only be building positive relationships with children but will also be working closely with teachers, senior leadership teams and parents to provide the best possible environment for children to thrive.

We are a an Alumni member of the Step up Virgin Accelerator programme and a member of UK active Kids are committed to deliver high quality service and professionalism in the sector. We are looking for multi skill playground coaches with strong experience of working in the Primary sector. A passion for working with young children is an absolute must.
Main Duties; Delivering sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and deliver a range of Before and After school extracurricular activities.
Excellent knowledge and hold qualifications of sports coaching, which should include; A Recognised NGB Level 2 Coaching Certificate(mandatory)
Child Protection Certificate
First Aid Certificate
Enhanced DBS clearance and/or no convictions. (mandatory)
Further educational or vocational qualifications in sport or related areas (Desirable)
Experience and knowledge of working with children & young people in primary schools.
Competent in literacy & numeracy to a level 2 standard Competency to perform at consistently high standards in a school environment; Be able to plan a range of innovative coaching sessions and programs Set up & deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions to children and young people
Knowledge of the school PE National Curriculum (not mandatory) Salary / Hourly Rate; This will be based on experience with excellent opportunities and a fantastic bonus scheme which is easily achievable.
HOURS WILL INITIALLY BE PART TIME. HOURS WILL BE INCREASED DEPENDENT ON PERFORMANCE
Skills and Experience: Own transport and basic computer skills are required, Reliable with strong time management skills. Applicants must also be self-motivated and have a passion for coaching and be inspiring young people through engagement and participation in physical activity and sport.
Previous coaching in a school environment would be highly beneficial to the applicant.
