Partnership Officer – Special Olympics Great Britain – Shoreditch, London

Job Description
Driven by Sport England’s vision of an inclusive future for disability sport, Special Olympics GB is developing local delivery networks that will include National Governing Bodies of sport, County Sports Partnerships, disability, education, health and voluntary sector organisations. The networks will provide greater opportunities for people with an intellectual disability to participate in sport and expand the Special Olympics club base.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the small team leading this development. The post holder will be responsible for establishing delivery networks in targeted areas of England and oversee the development the Special Olympics GB programme in London, building on the success of a Greater London Authority funded project.

    The ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Experience in a related field that includes either sports development, disability sector or the charity sector.
2. Excellent project management skills with experience of identifying targets, action planning, goal setting and solution-based problem solving.
3. Negotiation and influencing skills to gain support and align current projects to partner’s strategies and objectives.
4. Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms with both external partners and internally within an organisation.
5. Partnership and relationship development, building new partnerships across the disability and sport sectors to maximise opportunities.
