Job Overview:
Working predominantly with the Senior Men’s team the post holder will work closely with the Head of Analysis to deliver an effective and efficacious Performance Analysis service to Bath Rugby.
Working under the direction of the Head of Analysis the post holder will utilise a variety of hardware and software tools to provide pertinent information to help enhance the coaching process. He / She will work closely with both the coaching and performance teams at Bath Rugby to help improve performance through the use of objective data and feedback.
The post-holder must have a track record of working successfully as part of a wider support team, and have the ability and aptitude to work autonomously when required. He / She will have experience of working with professional coaches and sports science support staff and be confident working across a range of areas such as (but not limited to):
• Data and Video capture
• Coding and Feedback
• Manipulation of large data sets
• Report design and dissemination methods
• Presentation tools to enhance feedback and learning
• Online database platforms and dissemination tools
In addition to this the post holder will have experience (2 years minimum) in a professional / elite rugby environment and have a sound understanding of the game.
The post-holder will operate under a matrix management system reporting to Head of Analysis as an operational head and Michael Hughes as functional head (PGIR Limited)
Details of Duties:
• Assist in the capture, analysis and feedback of all senior team training sessions and matches as directed by the Head of Analysis
• Design and evolve data collection methods to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness with which KPI’s can be monitored and referenced
• Design, organize and maintain a variety of local (and if required) online databases.
• Provide systematic and ad-hoc performance reports to the Head of Analysis and appropriate coaches, to enhance player development and game understanding
• Regularly compile and present pertinent analysis on opposition teams, to gain a competitive advantage
• Support the delivery of analysis sessions to both players and coaches
• Work with other sports science disciplines as part of a multidisciplinary team as and when appropriate and directed by the Head of Analysis
• Assist with the Analysis provision to the Academy and A League teams as appropriate and directed by the Head of Analysis
• Work on bespoke projects (time permitting) as directed by the Head of Analysis
• Undertake (in consultation with all relevant line managers) any other relevant / reasonable duties across the organization as appropriate
Person Specification:
Education, Training and Experience:
• A sound academic record, including a degree in Performance Analysis or related subject is required.
• At least 3 years practical and relevant experience with performance analysis and a strong understanding of workings of Professional / Elite Sports
• Highly numerate with strong technical and computer skills.
• Experience in the use of Performance analysis software(s) and related video production and analysis tools
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is absolutely essential
• Demonstrable database and statistical analysis skills
• Ability to vary feedback methodologies to maximize understanding of target audience
• Experience of report writing and design – translating analysis into literate, concise documentation
• Excellent written and spoken English is essential

Contractual Details:
Start date: ASAP
Location: Farleigh House will be the post-holder’s normal place of work.
Remuneration: Dependent on experience.
Holiday: Up to 25 days per year excluding bank holidays.
Hours: 08.30 to 17.45
Contract: TBA
