Job Description
The Performance and Talent Development Manager is to work strategically with the Head of Performance and Excellence to implement and deliver national talent development programmes across the 4 Olympic disciplines which aim to provide opportunities for talented Welsh gymnasts to achieve their potential within national competition and squad structures.
Depending on the needs and priorities of the individual disciplines, the role is to:-
• To establish/implement and oversee long term talent development plans for talented Welsh gymnasts that sit within the Olympic disciplines.
• Manage the team of Talent Development coaches and ensure that the quality and depth of coaching exists within the talent development programmes.
• Ensure that identified gymnasts have appropriate training and competition programmes to support their on-going development within their discipline and provide a seamless pathway into junior elite structures.
• To co-ordinate performance development training and competition opportunities (national and international) for identified talent.
• Using a variety of methods, to continuously monitor and evaluate the progression and development of identified gymnasts and coaches.
• To be a key member of the Welsh Gymnastics Performance Team and to attend and report to the relevant meetings.
• Prepare, monitor and evaluate the Talent Development budgets.
• Play a key role in the relationship between Welsh Gymnastics and Sport Wales with regards to support services education syllabi across the Talent Programmes.
• Represent Welsh Gymnastics on British Gymnastics and Sport Wales platforms related to Talent Development.
Please note this is a fixed term contract until March 2019.
