Performance Sport Officer – University of Manchester

Job Description
The University of Manchester has a long heritage of supporting outstanding student athletes over the last 100 years of intervarsity sporting competition. The University recognises the importance of delivering a high performance sporting offer for both our current students experience and success as well as for prospective athletes considering Manchester as their place of study.
The University is therefore recruiting a new Performance Sport Team and are looking to appoint a Performance Sport Officer to oversee the work of the multi-disciplinary delivery team. You will be responsible for creating strategies that aim to develop our high performance offer, support the dual career of our current elite athletes and attract future high performing students to the University through Sport.

You will take responsibility for overseeing the Performance Sport programmes; specifically being the lead member of staff for the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), our internal scholarship programmes and focus sports as well as being the key contact for our University Sporting Excellence Club (XXI club).
You will also be a keen team player, with the ability to supervise staff and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we provide a suitable environment for all our athletes to achieve their potential in both their sporting and academic careers.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with significant experience of performance sport in the UK, ideally within the higher education sports environment.
The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
