Job Description
British Rowing is looking for a highly motivated rowing coach who is seeking a new challenge, enjoys problem solving and is a great team player, to work with our hugely successful Paralympic Programme.
The successful candidate will be an inspirational first point of contact for new rowers seeking to target Paralympic success. They will have an eye for talented individuals and the relational skills to work closely with them and their club coach to establish them successfully in a nurturing rowing club environment. They will be responsible for supporting rowers on the first step of their journey to graduate to the Paralympic Programme’s development programme with the skills, attributes and behaviours that will allow them to grow over time to challenge for international selection and add positively to the Performance Programme’s culture.
The GB Rowing Team’s aim is to produce medal winning Para Rowing boats at the World Rowing Championships and Paralympic Games. This role funded by Sport England is responsible for working with the Chief Coach to deliver these results by developing and maintaining a talent stream to sustain this level of performance.
This a rare opportunity to be part of highly successful performance programme, which topped the medal table at the Paralympic Games in Rio by winning Gold medals in three of the four Paralympic events and a Bronze medal in the fourth.
Experience of working with rowers with a disability is not a pre-requisite but an ability to think outside the box, take ownership of your work, build strong relationships and be driven by high standards is.
