Personal Trainer / Strength & Conditioning Coach – The Championships, Wimbledon

Job Description
We’re looking for Personal Trainer / Strength and Conditioning Coach to provide coaching and fitness consultancy to AELTC Players, Members and Staff.
To be successful, you must have a BSc in Exercise or Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Rehabilitations related discipline or Reps level 3 personal training qualification

Background
The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (AELTC) organises and stages The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships.
The AELTC has delivered substantial top line growth in recent years and expects that growth to continue in conjunction with an ambitious investment programme in the years ahead, including the construction of a retractable roof over No.1 Court.
The importance of Personal Training / Strength & Conditioning has grown, and we are committed to providing excellent facilities and service for all user groups including players, members and staff.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
– To design, implement and monitor high quality exercise, rehabilitation and athletic development programmes based on sound theoretical knowledge and anecdotal experience
– Organise assessments and deliver personal training or strength and conditioning coaching to ensure best practice
– Day to day maintenance of the gym area
– Support the Gym and Fitness Manager to work with key stakeholders
– Work in close collaboration with the physiotherapy and occupational health providers to ensure collaboration for strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and injury prevention
The Championships
– Support the Gym and Fitness Manager to liaise with relevant departments to ensure the requirements during The Championships are agreed, managed and delivered
– During The Championships, the job holder must be able to work at least a 12 hour day including weekends

– Maintain health, safety and security in the workplace and comply with all company procedures and guidelines, including manual handling procedures

Person Specification
Essential
– BSc in Exercise or Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Rehabilitation related discipline or Reps level 3 personal training qualification
– 3 years proven experience within a training and coaching role
– Previous experience of working in a sports club or tennis facility with exposure to high performance
– Experience and knowledge of tennis
– Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders
– Excellent communicator – face to face, telephone and email to people at every level both internally and externally
– Pro-active, solution focused approach within agreed guidelines
– Able to build and maintain excellent internal and external working relationships
– Able to take personal responsibility, multi task and meet deadlines within agreed guidelines

Desirable
– MSc in Exercise or Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning or Sports rehabilitation related discipline
– UKSCA (ASCC) and/or NSCA accredited or ability to obtain with 6 months
– Exercise Referral Qualified
– Valid first aid certificate
Additional Information
The role will require full DBS clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the Company.

The gym is open 7 days / week and the role may include regular evening and weekend work and extended hours/days.
