An exciting opportunity has arisen, to join the Sport, Physical Activity, Health & Wellbeing Team at Melton Borough Council.
The successful applicant will work with colleagues both within the council as well as with a wide range of local, regional and national partners to increase participation, improve lifestyles, and strengthen the physical activity links within the Melton Borough and the surrounding County. You will help achieve a diverse range of physical activity programmes within the community, that will engage with residents and benefit their physical and mental wellbeing.
As part of the role the successful candidate will work with and play an integral part in improving the health and wellbeing of both the least active in society and vulnerable people. You will work closely with the local providers and key stakeholders to provide a service to those targeted individuals and groups that most need our support.
Applicants should be highly motivated with a focus on partnership working, project management, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work own their own initiative.
You will need to be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate the equivalent skills and attributes acquired through a more practical approach and have experience of developing, co-ordinating and promoting physical activity programmes in a community environment.
Proven experience of developing, co-ordinating and delivering a series of physical activity sessions leading to sustainable community participation is essential.
An exercise referral qualification, Level 2 exercise, fitness or sports coaching qualification or leaders’ qualification would be advantageous.
