JOB TITLE: Women’s Physiotherapist
DEPARTMENT: Medical
REPORTING TO: Women’s Team Doctor (line manager)
JOB FUNCTION: Provide support to the Women’s Team Doctor and fellow Women’s Physiotherapists. Contributing to the planning and implementation of injured player treatment.
LOCATION: Cobham. Travel to home & away games with the Team when required.
CONTRACT: Permanent, full time hours, over 6 days. As and when required according to team schedule.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part):
Support the Club and the Team Manager/Coaches to achieve our shared goal of success across all squads.
Provide support to the Women’s team doctor and fellow Women’s physiotherapists. Contribute as part of the medical team to the planning and implementation of injured player treatment interventions as required.
Deliver the practical application of the players medical and fitness plans.
Assess players on/off the field with doctor.
Deliver the physical maintenance of the players.
Facilitating an injury prevention and risk management programme.
Devising, informing and leading the management of injuries and recovery of players as part of the medical team philosophy (including return to play transition, post training/match protocols).
Undertake a progressive and ongoing professional development process attending and participating in in-house CPD sessions (when possible), keep a regular CPD file, and ensure up to date with medical advances and research in their field.
Involved in pre and post-match medical duties.
Deliver daily injury reports on behalf of the department.
Ensure they are competent in the use of the “Kitman” labs system and daily medical record keeping is undertaken – as well as completing all appropriate administrative and reporting duties that are required.
Ensure medical stock and equipment are fully stocked and maintained.
Travel to games, tours, etc. as required.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE (Here to Win):
Achieve player match availability of > 90%.
To represent the Women’s medical team and facilitate a team directed approach.
Consistently deliver a high quality of physiotherapy service to players, support other members of the medical staff in completion of their respective duties, and contribute to the daily routines and team approach of the Chelsea Football Club Medical Department as requested by the Team Doctor and Medical Director.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications:
Essential
To hold a European recognised Physiotherapy qualification.
To be HCPC registered.
Desirable
To hold an appropriate level First Aid qualification, ie ITMMiF or ATMMiF.
Experience:
Essential
To have previous experience in elite team sport.

The Employee must act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are in their care or attending the Company’s premises. The Employee must report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the Safeguarding Lead.
