This position will be responsible for the delivery PL Primary Stars project within four priority Primary Schools within Southampton. Implementing a detailed plan for mentoring, coaching and advising Primary School teachers on the delivery of School Sport and PE. Deliver a timetable of PE, PSHE, Literacy and Numeracy activities.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual can organise and motivate team members. Someone who has knowledge of the local area and experience in working in a Primary school setting.
They will be working with the PL Primary Stars Coordinator to identify development opportunities and service gaps within existing schools provision, reporting back to Funded Projects Manager/Partnership Development Manager to support the development of potential partners and/or funders.
Working with Saints Foundation’s Football Development Programme and local Primary Schools to develop innovative and engaging PE, PSHE, Literacy and Numeracy curriculums.
The competencies which are required include:
Essential Experience:
Knowledge of PLCF and PLPFA funded projects.
A knowledge of M&E programmes relevant to the industry sector.
A strong knowledge of community engagement programmes specifically tailored to the provision of community activities & Primary Schools.
Ability to engage with hard to reach groups.
Have a good understanding of the key Education providers in Southampton and be able to maintain strong partnerships with main project stakeholders.
Ability to deliver innovative and engaging PE, PSHE, Literacy and Numeracy curriculums.
Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of the Saints Foundation.
Knowledge of local demographic and social needs.
Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
UKCC Level 2 Coaching qualification or equivalent.
Educated to degree level (PE related preferred) or have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Primary School setting.
Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):
Hold or be working towards 1st4Sport Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport.
Hold or be working towards Qualified Teacher Status.
Level 2 Multi-Skills qualification.
Essential Skills:
Good communication and organisation skills.
Ability to organise and motivate team members.
Confident and outgoing personality.
Aims to support and improve staff members.
