Job Description
Following successful delivery of the Kicks programme on behalf of the Premier League Charitable Fund, and agreement of funding for the foreseeable future, Crawley Town Community Foundation will be hiring a Kicks Co-ordinator, to maintain existing Kicks sessions and aim to grow sessions, ensuring they remain at a high standard.
In addition to planning and delivering Kicks sessions, the job purpose will be to ensure all project administration, monitoring and evaluation is maintained to the required standard, and submitted by the relevant deadlines. The postholder will also be to support the Community Development Co-Ordinator in the growth and development of the Kicks project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To adopt a creative, innovative, flexible approach in the planning and delivery of Kicks sessions, ensuring there are clear aims and outcomes to work towards.
2. To liaise regularly with young people, through both formal and informal methods, and to use their opinions to shape the programme accordingly.
3. To ensure accurate attendance records are kept for each session, and are inputted onto the Substance Views system.
4. To ensure project minimum targets and KPI’s are met.
5. To run relevant reports and statistical summaries on the Substance Views system, and provide regular updates to the Community Development Co-Ordinator.
6. To ensure all project monitoring and evaluation is thoroughly completed and submitted by the relevant deadlines.
7. To manage the administration, planning and delivery of relevant training and qualifications for participants on the Kicks programme.
8. To manage the administration and planning involved in arranging fixtures and tournaments, and support the team whilst at events.
9. To maintain existing relationships with existing partners, and to provide the Community Development Co-Ordinator with regular updates of the local picture.
10. To attend all relevant local forums, Kicks specific project events and conferences, and to provide regular feedback to the Community Development Co-Ordinator.
11. To manage the administration and delivery of the Kicks steering group, utilising local feedback and presenting information back to the Community Development Co-Ordinator.
12. To keep abreast of the latest relevant training and qualifications, and to disseminate any relevant information to project staff.
13. To play an active role in promoting the messages of Crawley Town Community Foundation and Crawley Town FC, particularly through relevant social media platforms.
14. Undertake such other relevant duties, which, from time to time, may be required by the Foundation.
15. Carry out all duties with regard to relevant legislation, and Foundation and Football League Trusts policies and procedures
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education, Training and Work Qualifications
Essential:
FA Enhanced DBS Check
FA Licensed Coaches Club member
FA Emergency Aid (or Appointed Persons course),
FA Safeguarding Children Course
Equity in Your Coaching (FA or sports coach UK)
Minimum of the FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate
Desirable:
To have completed the following;
FA Youth Modules
Level 2 Award in Youth Work or similar
Level 1 and 2 Awards in additional sports.
Critical Incident training
Additional training around health and wellbeing (e.g. drug and alcohol awareness training, peer mentoring, smoking cessation, nutrition, hate crime awareness etc)
Knowledge
Essential:
A sound understanding of sports equity issues, child protection, health & safety principles, policies and procedures. Desirable:
An appreciation and knowledge of sports development including club and coach development.
Knowledge of relevant national and local sports development and FA initiatives.
An understanding of CTCF football development and progression pathways
An understanding of CTCF policies and procedures
Skills and Abilities
Essential:
To have the confidence to lead groups of young people from a range of backgrounds.
To possess the ability to empathise with young people, and relate to young people and adults in a positive way.
To possess strong administration, planning & organisational skills, including time management, workload prioritisation and decision-making.
To possess the ability to develop & implement high quality, innovative & varied coaching sessions.
To be flexible and adapt sessions appropriately, dependant on the needs of the young people.
To possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate and to enthuse coaches, teachers, club personnel and young people.
To possess the ability to work under pressure, use own initiative, learn quickly and the ability to adapt. Desirable:
To have an awareness of talent identification in youth football.
To utilise these skills to support talented players into Crawley Town FC player pathways.
To have experience of delivering training, workshops and/or other development opportunities to young people.
Relevant Experience
Essential:
At least 1 years’ experience of coaching community sessions to young people aged 8-19.
Experience of delivering afterschool and curriculum sessions, and supporting young people to access additional opportunities.
Desirable:
Previous experience of coaching or delivering on a Kicks project/session.
Experience of organising fixtures and tournaments, including all relevant admin (risk assessments, site visits, health and safety checks)
Experience of facilitating group activities, workshops and focus groups with young people and relevant stakeholders.
Experience of using the Substance VIEWS system to run reports and statistical summaries.
Experience of using databases, producing spreadsheets and publicity materials.
