Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Premier League Kicks Manager role is to plan, deliver and evaluate football and multi-sport initiatives that generate aspiration and confidence in young people from underprivileged areas of Kirklees.
The Premier League Kicks programme is a flagship targeted project, which uses the power of football and sports participation, alongside personal development activities, to help hard-to-reach young people in some of the most high-need areas.
The Premier League Kicks Manager will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks Programme across Kirklees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and development of the Kicks programme, leading a dedicated team and supporting the wider Huddersfield Town Foundation team to deliver a number of programmes across Kirklees, including coordinating our inclusive sessions.
In addition, the post holder will have frontline delivery responsibility, engaging with young people, leading on the delivery of sports participation and youth engagement sessions, and the delivery of educational workshops in the local community.

Key Performance Indicators
Our Premier League Kicks programme will aim to inspire young people to achieve their potential gain qualifications, undertake social action and volunteering, and improve their overall mental and physical wellbeing. By working closely with the young people within community settings we will be able to develop goals and outcomes for each young person and provide a range of sporting activities in which they will be able to engage positively.
The specific aims of the programme, against which the post holder will be assessed, are:
• Supporting young people to positively engage with a range of sporting activities in their local community;
• Supporting young people to achieve their potential;
• Building confidence and trust of the young people;
• Improving their mental and physical wellbeing;
• Building their levels of resilience;
• Improving and fostering a positive approach to gaining qualifications, attending workshops, volunteering and undertaking social action projects within their community;
• Integration into wider Huddersfield Town Foundation community networks and opportunities, which may include the other programmes such as the College programme, NCS, or Foundation degree;
• Steering young people away from criminal behaviour and developing their understanding of the impact on themselves, their family and their community when crime is committed.
Role Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The post holder will be required to:
• Coordinate the overall delivery of the kicks project, ensuring the scheme reaches and surpasses all targets, as agreed with project funders, and targets areas of greatest need;
• Visit different evening Kicks sessions on a weekly basis to carry out quality assurance and provide cover when required;
• Manage staff to ensure the implementation of high quality project delivery, including quality assurance and troubleshooting at sessions;
• Assist the Senior Management Team to secure external funding through a range of sources, including writing funding applications to other charities and agencies:
• Plan and deliver a range of lifestyle workshops for project participants, covering a range of issues including health awareness, positive mental health, equality and diversity, and the dangers of knife crime;
• Organise and fulfil a number of fixtures and competitions, both locally and regionally, linked to Huddersfield Town AFC fixtures;
• Promote the Kicks project in schools and in community settings across Kirklees to ensure a diverse range of participants attend sessions, and the project achieves its Key Performance Indicators;
• Consider equality, diversity and inclusion in all activities linked to Kicks with a particular focus around female participation, LGBTQ young people, disability, and engaging with Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities;
• Implement a Kicks Youth Voice Group and consult with participants to ensure the project is fit for purpose;
• Coordinate the social action element of the Kicks programme, ensuring participants are provided with an opportunity to support their local community;
• Support the monitoring and evaluation process of the scheme and compile evidence on the progress of Kicks in order to report to key funders, the Premier League Charitable Fund, as and when required;
• Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments, safeguarding and health and safety procedures put in place;
• Develop effective working relationships with key partners and agencies, raising the profile of the Huddersfield Town Foundation through building up local networks and representation on local groups, including ward council meetings;
• Raise the profile of future youth programmes through media, word of mouth, and effective use of reward schemes; and,
• Act as an Ambassador for The Huddersfield Town Foundation, building strong and effective relationships with partners and participants to ensure that interest in Foundation projects/ programmes is sustained.
Other
• To attend all required induction and training events organised by and through The Huddersfield Town Foundation;
• Contribute to fundraising/income generation for The Huddersfield Town Foundation, as required from time to time, to support and sustain the work of the organisation; and,
• To work occasional match days, evenings and weekends as required.
The post holder will be required to undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Education and Sport, the Huddersfield Town Foundation Chief Executive Officer, and/or any other Senior Manager/Director, commensurate with the level of the post.
