Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust (WWSET), the charitable arm of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, is seeking an ambitious, adaptable and innovative candidate to fill the role of Premier League Primary Stars Manager.
Based at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers FC, this is an exciting opportunity to join a talented team that are dedicated to engaging with as many people as possible in and around the Wycombe area, with the aim of improving levels of health, social inclusion, education, and sports participation.
The Premier League Primary Stars Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Premier League Chartable Funds flagship project, ‘Premier League Primary Stars’.
Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills. The programme is available to every primary school in England and Wales, and it aims to inspire girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, on the playground and on the sports field.
WWSET have been successfully delivering Premier League Primary Stars for four years, and our delivery model involves us working with teachers in local partner schools to deliver fun, educational sessions in a range of subjects.
The post holder will be required to deliver a weekly programme of activities to enhance teachers’ knowledge, skills and confidence of PE delivery in order to increase the quality of PE provision that local children are receiving. Other areas of WWSET’s delivery aim to increase children’s enjoyment of physical activity, increase their participation levels and skills in competitive and non-competitive sports, increase their understanding of personal skills, and increase their confidence in English and Maths by using sport as a means to engage.
Further to the above the post holder will be tasked with all the monitoring & evaluating responsibilities related to Premier League Primary Stars, and reporting the outcomes achieved to both the funders and the wider public.
The post holder will also support the delivery, growth and development of WWSET’S activity programme during school holidays.
Role Accountabilities & Key Duties
1 Plan, organise, deliver and report on the Premier League Primary Stars programme according to the funding criteria
2 Satisfy and exceed the funding requirements of the PLCF regarding the Premier League Primary Stars programme being delivered
3 Identify, develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders/external organisations that will assist WWSET in achieving the Premier League primary Stars related aims and objectives, as well as the organisations wider strategic aims
4 Increase the awareness and popularity of WWSET’s Premier League Primary Stars programme via effective publicity and promotion
5 Manage all Premier League Primary Stars related activities in accordance with financial targets & budgets
6 Identify and develop opportunities to create operating growth of WWSET’s Premier League Primary Stars programme and the organisation as a whole
7 Consistently and accurately monitor and evaluate WWSET’s Premier League Primary Stars programme in order to demonstrate impact and achievements
8 Produce data and reports that demonstrate the impact and value of the WWSET Premier League Primary Stars programme
9 Devise activities that ensure individuals and groups of participants are motivated, stretched and challenged at appropriate levels across all Premier League Primary Stars programme interventions.
10 Devise and deliver PSHE related activities that utilise Adams Park Stadium as an inspirational learning environment
11 Ensure compliance with all relevant WWSET policies at all times
12 Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements at all times
13 Maintain a professional image and act as an ambassador for WWSET & WWFC at all times
14 Keep confidential any information gained regarding the Charity, Club and its personnel
15 Maintain a flexible approach to work at all times
16 Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required by WWSET when necessary
17 Maximise the frequency and impact of player appearances at WWSET’s Premier League Primary Stars sessions
18 Ensure appropriate exit routes are offered to all participants being engaged on WWSET’s Premier League Primary Stars programme
19 Attend training courses and continuing professional development sessions as and when required
