Procurement Category Manager – England & Wales Cricket Board

Job Description
We are introducing this exciting role to support the procurement strategy at the ECB. This is an end to end, proactive, stakeholder facing role to deliver sourcing activities and projects in line with category plans and business stakeholder requirements. You will play a key role in developing and promoting the Procurement function across ECB and the First-Class Counties. You will support the Head of Procurement on the day-to-day activities.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF
• You have very good analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• You’re a clear and articulate communicator and can influence internal and external stakeholders
• You have an unshakable can-do attitude with experience working as a procurement category manager/specialist.
• You have a desire to develop a career in Procurement, should be a proven self-starter, and be able to demonstrate flexibility and creativity in a fast-paced environment.

YOU’LL BE DOING
• Collaborating across key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the procurement process is fully understood and integrated.
• Identifying opportunities to source goods and services by determining strategies and tactics for sourcing activity
• Conducting detailed analysis of internal requirements, analysis of external suppliers, including costs and markets.
• Implementing and managing regular progress meetings with functional areas to track activities, milestones, risks, and issues.
• Managing the end to end process of identifying, pitching, evaluating and selecting suppliers through to contract completion.
• Identifying cost savings opportunities
• Creating and preparing project documentation, including procurement documentation and contracts.
• Creating Category Plans for specific spend categories and vendors.
• Assisting ECB staff to manage existing suppliers
• Educating the business on procurement and supplier management
• Support team in developing category strategies
• Monitoring data management to keep accurate product, contract, & costs saving

YOU’LL HAVE
• Experience in procurement leading multiple, complex, sourcing projects.
• Experience managing indirect spend categories such as marketing, events, travel, advertising, and professional services.
• Commercial management experience, such as leading complex negotiations and contract review.
• A solid understanding of how to establish, maintain, and positively leverage effective stakeholder relationships.
• Understands end to end procurement cycle, value chain, cost breakdown, and can initiate cost saving opportunities
• CIPS accreditation or working towards qualification (desirable)
