Job Description
Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead on and develop the Partnership’s commitment to increasing levels of physical activity, specifically targeting the adult population across the two counties.
Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire (SPHW) is the strategic lead for physical activity and sport across the two counties. Our purpose is to ‘create a more active and healthier Herefordshire & Worcestershire by enabling a thriving, sustainable environment of physical activity and sport’.
Funded by Sport England we are part of a national network of Active Partnerships and we are currently in a position to recruit for a Project Manager (Adult Participation) on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2021.
We are looking for someone to join our enthusiastic and high performing team who can bring with them a passion for developing opportunities for adults to be active. You will have experience of managing multiple projects and programmes, ideally within an adult / older adult environment as well as the ability to develop and manage new opportunities.
This role will require you to work with a varied range of local partners and stakeholders so the ability to engage and network effectively will be crucial.
You will also have experience of line managing staff as this role comes with the responsibility of managing 2 project officers delivering on externally funded programmes which are Move More – supporting people into physical activity who are living with or beyond cancer and the Worcestershire Strength & Balance service (subject to successful re-tender)
This role will also lead and develop the Partnership’s workplace health programme, including the organisation and delivery of a number of work place challenge events so experience of event management would be advantageous.
An ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities is essential as is a willingness to work unsociable hours. We’re looking for a self starter with good team building and networking skills, which are critical to this role.
