Project Manager – British Gymnastics

Job Description
British Gymnastics is the UK Governing Body for gymnastics. We exist to support, lead and inspire all those involved or interested in gymnastics; from the creation of new programmes and activities at grass roots level in the community, to the development of talent producing international gymnasts.

To assist us in the provision of managing a variety of projects designed to deliver against the organisations strategic priorities, we are now looking to attract an appropriately experienced Project Manager to work on and lead projects across the business.

The Role
The main responsibilities of the role are:
• Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria (incl. return on investment) in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Creating and managing a range of project plans and associated documentation using the Prince2 project management method.
• Working with stakeholders to ensure that scope is widely understood and that project deliverables are completed on time, to specification, and within budget.
• Engaging with Project Managers at key milestones to review documentation with a view to providing direction and support prior to moving forward with the next step or stage of the project
• Scoping and mapping the project life cycle, the IT development, the business content (integration and processes) and the product testing and delivery
• Establishing the project controls, stages, deliverables, risks, budget and timelines; allocating and monitoring tasks and resources accordingly
• Making recommendations to the BG Executive team relating to Project Board members

The Person
The ideal applicant will have/be able to demonstrate:
• Prior experience managing projects and/or formal qualifications in project management
• Analytical skills for measuring, interpreting and reporting requirements, plans and recommendations; good business acumen/awareness; lateral thinking and problem solving; time management and good organisation skills; finance and administration skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating, influencing, engaging, challenging plans and risk assessments; enthusiasm and drive.
