Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced project manager with extensive charity sector experience to join a new and growing RAF Sports Charity based in Buckinghamshire. The position will initially be for a 12 month period with the potential to extend into a permanent role.
The RAF Sports Charity is currently an unincorporated charity governed by a Scheme of the Charity Commission and is in a period of significant change. It is embarking on the path to incorporation and it is anticipated that the RAF Sports Charity will become the umbrella charity for over 40 RAF sports associations, the majority of which are excepted charities in their own right. The RAF Sports Charity is responsible for providing funding, guidance and advice to the RAF sports associations and prepares the annual accounts for most of them.
The Project will include: (a) Transitioning the unincorporated RAF Sports Charity into incorporation and setting it up as the umbrella body (b) Establishing Group regulations and policies (c) Converting a number of excepted charities into CIO’s (d) Potentially bringing under the parent charity a number of excepted charities, CIO’s and charitable companies limited by guarantee.
The person: To be successful in securing this role we are looking for an experienced project manager with:
• Extensive experience of setting up new charities and supporting charities through the process of incorporation
• Specialised knowledge of charity governance, company law and their application
• Knowledge of charity reporting requirements
• Strong financial management experience
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal individual will be comfortable operating with autonomy in a leadership position and will have an excellent track record in communication and relationship management.
Due to the nature of the position it will be necessary to obtain Security Clearance prior to the successful applicant being offered employment.
