What we’re looking for
We’re looking for applicants with experience working in a similar role or environment, including undertaking assessments and working with individuals to develop, implement and review action plans. Experience within substance misuse/recovery would be advantageous. This could include administering drug and alcohol tests, working with people with drug and alcohol problems, delivering motivational interviewing and delivering a range of evidence based psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group-work settings.
A general understanding of substance misuse problems and recovery is essential and you’ll be able to deal with the emotional content of sessions, constructively challenging a range of behaviours. You’ll have a good understanding of group working and group dynamics, and will be able to demonstrate competent group work facilitation skills.
You’ll have excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and will be confident managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands. Just as importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive, recovery focused attitude.
