Join the small, dynamic team that runs Nike Sports Camps and take the lead on finding the right people to give our summer camp participants an unforgettable experience. Every year, thousands of young people from around the world attend our industry-leading residential sports summer camps in the UK. Organised by a core team of permanent staff based in central London, we require a high volume of high-quality temporary staff to work residentially on our camps in July and August.
You will see the recruitment process through from beginning to end, taking responsibility for finding our junior camp staff and supporting the senior management team in processing candidates for specialist camp roles. You will continue supporting temporary staff throughout their employment, overseeing the staff culture and managing relationships. You will even organise the end of summer staff party!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
TEMPORARY PROGRAMME STAFF RECRUITMENT & HR
– Find lucrative new recruitment channels and nurture our existing
relationships
– Manage job advertisements and attend recruitment fairs and events
– Lead on the recruitment process: screen applications, conduct
interviews, organise assessment days and select candidates in
conjunction with the senior management team
– Maintain staff and applicant database: be responsible for ensuring
that all pre-employment checks, training courses and contracts are
satisfactorily completed prior to employment
– Manage relationships with staff before, during and after employment
to retain for future years
– Identify ways to improve our recruitment strategy in the future
SUPPORT HEADS OF OPERATIONS WITH:
– Managing staff resourcing across camp venues in accordance with
latest participant numbers
– Training and onboarding
– Grievance and disciplinary procedures in conjunction with external
HR specialist
– Maintaining staffing levels and standards during camps
– Arranging staff performance reviews
– Managing budgets, strategy and camp staff satisfaction and culture
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Keep all recruitment and HR policies and procedures up to date
with support from external HR specialist
– Promote and arrange the end-of-summer staff party
– Support the finance team in the processing of payroll and invoices
– Support the senior management team in the occasional recruitment
of temporary and permanent office staff
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:
– Evidenced experience of being part of a talent hiring programme,
volume hiring or managing a contingent hiring desk/portfolio
– Ability to juggle ongoing and concurrent recruitment drives
– Proven experience as a high-volume recruiter or similar role and
ideally experience in student/graduate recruitment
– Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and an understanding of
database management systems
– A sound understanding of safer recruitment practice (working with
children)
– Knowledge of relevant HR legislation and hiring processes
– A confident, personable and professional communicator, with a
positive character
– Excellent attention to detail, process driven, and accuracy when
working under pressure
– Willing to work longer hours and weekends when required (only
during June, July and August).
PACKAGE:
– Full-time (37.5hrs a week) permanent contract
– Salary circa £35-40k
