Regional Sports Development Officer – British Dodgeball

Job Description
Looking at School Games data, British Dodgeball has discovered priority areas in which there is lots of dodgeball being played at school level without community club exit routes.
Two of these areas are Lancashire (Blackburn/Preston), and Essex (Chelmsford), where there are no British Dodgeball-registered clubs in the immediate area. We are therefore seeking part-time club development officers in each region in order to develop strong junior clubs in both localities.

Job Description:
– Approx. 3-6 hours/week (1-2 hours/week administration & 3-4 hours session delivery).
– Build relationships with key stakeholders and public bodies (Active Partnerships, Local Authorities, schools, leisure centres) in order to develop sustainable junior dodgeball clubs.
– Engage parents and community volunteers to build a sustainable committee and workforce.
– Promote club sessions to young people in a variety of settings.
This will be a part-time paid role which we expect to begin around Easter 2020. Administration will be paid at £10/hour and session delivery paid at £15-20/hour.

Person Specification:
– Experience of working within club and school environments.
– Experience of sports development.
– Hold a full UK Drivers licence, Level 2 dodgeball coaching certificate an enhanced DBS check, safeguarding & first aid qualifications (training will be given to the right candidate so don’t let this stop you from applying if you can demonstrate that you are a good fit for the role)
