The main hospital site is in the historical Cathedral city of Exeter that has abundant family amenities and beautiful surrounding countryside. It is situated in the middle of the South West Region with easy access to the countryside and coast of Devon and Cornwall. It is well served by rail, road and air links. Good educational facilities such as the University of Exeter and good Ofsted rated schools are available locally. Our Community sites are equally well positioned and are a good place to work.
Enjoy a good quality of life in the South West and be part of our caring workforce.
An opportunity has arisen for registered nurses to come and join our team at the Nightingale Hospital Exeter (NHE).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team who will provide outstanding care to patients with COVID-19 across the southwest peninsula at the NHE.
NHE is the seventh and most recent Nightingale Hospital to be commissioned by the NHS to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the build is complete, NHE will remain on standby, ready to receive patients at 7 days’ notice should the need arise in the coming months. NHE is part of the region’s plan for an integrated response to COVID19.
NHE has 72 ward based care beds, split into three wards; Poppy, Daisy and Clover. There are also two wards (44 beds) to support patients on mechanical ventilation; Buttercup and Campion.
The successful applicant will join the multi-disciplinary team in providing expert care to patients.
We anticipate receiving patients from across the south west peninsular.
Applicants will need at least one years’ experience in an acute hospital or relevant recent experience.
The successful applicant will work alongside like-minded individuals who are enthusiastic, skilled and motivated to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to support the new team at the Nightingale Hospital Exeter.
The successful applicant will need to accept redeployment from their home Trust to NHE at short notice if and when NHE becomes operational. Accommodation can be provided during periods of attachment to NHE for those travelling long distances.
