London Marathon Events Ltd is one of the world’s leading mass participation sports event organisers.
We organise some of the biggest and best mass participation sports events in the UK including Prudential RideLondon, the world’s greatest festival of cycling, which features 100,000 riders in seven different events. We are a not-for-profit organisation and any surplus we make is given to The London Marathon Charitable Trust to inspire people to become and remain active primarily in London, Surrey and also across the UK.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the RideLondon Senior Operations Manager for the event, the role is focused on the operational planning and delivery of all aspects across the RideLondon event.
Working closely with the Senior Operations Manager, Venue Manager, a range of company-wide functional areas and the RideLondon Programme Manager to plan, manage and co-ordinate a diverse range of tasks and resources to ensure the safe and successful delivery of RideLondon.
The key roles and responsibilities:
Stakeholder liaison and site visits working to gain suitable licencing and local permissions for the routes
Work with the Operations Team to produce detailed planning documentation and CAD plans of the routes
Develop production schedules for the technical delivery of the event routes
Develop and plan activations and creative event concepts for the weekend for both route and venue
Work with the wider team to integrate branding overlay within event operations to maximise sponsor ROI/ROO
Work with the Workforce Team to scope and define briefing for workforce roles
Plan and define key logistics requirements of equipment and infrastructure
Work with suppliers for efficient radio communications scoping and equipment distribution
Work closely with the Logistics Team to ensure equipment is procured and distributed
Manage contracts with suppliers and operational budgets
Work with Health and Safety contractors for staff and participant safety
Maintain and build supplier and temporary staff relationships
Assist coordination of TV logistics planning with sport, branding and TV Production teams across the event
Work closely with Sport Team and Event Director for the planning and production of professional races
Integrate VIP and hospitality requirements to the operational plan
Feed into event debriefs and collate feedback from defined areas of responsibility
The ideal candidate should have:
Extensive experience of delivering mass participation sports events at a senior level
Proven project management skills
An understanding of technical production on a wide range of complex events
Confident and able to work autonomously
Ability to build strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Experience with managing budgets and negotiating contracts
Work within a large temporary team environment during the event delivery phase
Knowledge of Crowd Management and extensive event time experience
Experience with Health and Safety principles and hold an IOSH qualification
A working knowledge of CDM regulations
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, with a broad skill set and a creative thinker, who has the ability to multitask. This role requires a candidate with a very positive and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine interest innovative event production and a desire to develop their career.
You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends when necessary at our events.
