London Marathon Events Ltd is one of the world’s leading mass participation sports event organisers.
We organise some of the biggest and best mass participation sports events in the UK including Prudential RideLondon, the world’s greatest festival of cycling, which features 100,000 riders in seven different events. We are a not-for-profit organisation and any surplus we make is given to The London Marathon Charitable Trust to inspire people to become and remain active primarily in London, Surrey and also across the UK.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the role is focused on the operational planning and delivery for the start and finish venues for RideLondon.
Working closely with the Senior Operations Manager, Production Manager, a range of company-wide functional areas and the RideLondon Programme Manager to plan, manage and co-ordinate a diverse range of tasks and resources to ensure the safe and successful delivery of RideLondon

The key roles and responsibilities:
Leading on Venue stakeholder planning with The Royal Parks, TfL, LLDC to gain suitable licencing and local permissions
Work with the Operations Team to produce detailed planning documentation and CAD plans for the venues
Develop production schedules for the technical delivery of the event venues
Work with the Workforce Team to scope and define briefing for workforce roles
Working with Health and Safety contractors for staff and participant safety
Provide up to date reports on event progress with RideLondon Technical Director
Work closely with the Logistics Team to ensure equipment is procured and distributed
Manage contracts with suppliers and operational budgets
Work closely with the Logistics Team to ensure equipment is procured and distributed
Oversee a team during live time to ensure that all venues are managed successfully
Assist coordination of TV logistics planning with sport, branding and TV Production teams in venue
Co-ordinate and work closely with the Marcoms and Sponsorship teams
Work closely with the event production manager on Branding overlay across venue
Feed in to event debriefs and collate feedback from defined areas of responsibility
The Ideal candidate should have:
Proven experience as a Venue Manager for a large scale mass participation event, within a Royal Park or a similar prestigious venue.
Proven Experience of large and complex event builds working to tight times scales
Ability to build strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Confident and able to work autonomously
Experience in project planning and stakeholder experience within a venue
Experience with Health and Safety principles and hold an IOSH qualification
A working knowledge of CDM regulations
Experience with managing budgets and negotiating contracts
Knowledge of Crowd Management and extensive event time experience
Hands on experience in delivering iconic televised events
Previous experience in leading and managing a team
Proven ability of clear, efficient, and effective decision making skills, including when under pressure
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, with a broad skillset and a creative thinker, who has the ability to multitask. This role requires a candidate with a very positive and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine interest innovative event production and a desire to develop their career.
You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends when necessary at our events.
