Job Description
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is seeking an enthusiastic Safety Operations Manager to work within the Club’s Safety operations at the bet365 Stadium.
The successful applicant will work at all sites owned or operated by Stoke City (Property) Limited.
Key Responsibilities
• Taking responsibility of match day safety operations including preparation and close liaison with other departments with regards to the coordination of match day activities.
• Deputising for the Head of Safety Operations in their absence.
• Liaising with all associated authorities and emergency services, Police, Fire, Ambulance, SGSA, Local Authority, FA and the EFL etc.
• Developing and implementing all associated policies and documentation required to comply fully with the Ground Safety Certificate.
• Preparing and reviewing all necessary contingency plans.
• Developing, monitoring and reviewing health and safety policies, procedures and guidance.
• Ensuring effective health, safety and spectator safety advice, risk assessments, audits and guidance is received.
• Promoting, developing and sustaining a positive health and safety awareness culture.
• Assisting with the implementation of any new and existing requirements of legislation and guidance from relevant authorities.
• Preparing, developing and sustaining stewarding contracts and requirements including recruitment, training and deployment.
Basic Qualifications
• Qualified to NVQ 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH National General Certificate or NCRQ Level 6 Certificate (or working towards).
• NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety Management (or working towards).
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formally PTLLS) is desirable.
Skills and Experience
• Ability to implement and manage safety procedures at all levels.
• Experience working with large number of spectators and personnel.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Good communicator, both written and oral.
• Fully IT literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
The successful applicant will be available to work evenings and weekends to cover all home first team fixtures and any other adhoc events, and will be required to reside within a 30 mile radius from your normal place of work.
