A new and exciting opportunity has become available within Scottish Rugby. We are looking for a qualified Physiotherapist with an interest in sport to join the team working with our Scotland Women medical team. This role will work with performance groups players who are training to be the future stars of Scottish Rugby.
This post is an opportunity for those who are motivated to gain specific experience in sports, who wish to gain practical high-performance experience in a learning and supported environment, and who see sport as a career path. The aim of this role is to provide and support high quality physiotherapy care to the Scotland Women National Team and Scotland Women 7s. Additional work with other representative teams and academies may be required.
What will you be doing:
– Providing high quality elite medical to the Scotland Senior National players and the Futures programmes
– Working closely with the Scotland Women Lead Physio and Team Doctor to address any player medical issues pre-tour/ event and follow up post-tour and between events as necessary
– Developing individual rehabilitation programmes which incorporate the appropriate level of support and advice to facilitate optimum recovery
– Providing on-pitch and pitch-side physiotherapy and first aid for the players
What we’re looking for:
– Experience of working in MSK physiotherapy and some experience in sport
– Someone who can reflect critically and develop practical and reasoning skills
– Someone who can demonstrate flexibility with working patterns and logistical changes at short notice
– A solid understanding of anatomy and pathology is expected however this role will help develop understanding of acute injury and relating injury management to an elite sporting context
– Experience with taping and sports massage would be desirable
