Social Media & Marketing Intern – Kids Run Free
3 months initially with possible extension
Salary – Nil
Hours – 6-8 per week
Kids Run Free was launched in 2010 by Martine Verweij & Catherine O’Carroll, owners of Raceways Events CIC, a successful sports events company. Through these events, they saw a need to create opportunities to inspire children to run.
Now, Kids Run Free has two programmes: the Marathon Kids programme in schools, and the Park Kids programme in local communities, reaching tens of thousands of children across the UK.
The Social Media & Marketing Intern is an excellent opportunity for a university student or recent graduate, and will focus mostly on the Park Kids programme, under the supervision of the Marketing Officer and the Communications & Marketing Manager.

KEY TASKS
Create marketing material for social media.
Share marketing material across various social media platforms, focussing on reaching relevant community groups.
Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Marketing Officer and/or Communications & Marketing Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree (or working towards) in Marketing or similar

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Social media platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and understanding of their use in maximising communication with different audiences
Experience in designing marketing material
Experience in video capture and editing
Basic office processes
Knowledge of the sports industry

DESIRED ABILITIES AND SKILLS
An enthusiastic approach with a commitment to getting the work done
Good planning and organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate with a strong working knowledge of social media sites and core Microsoft products
