Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Sports and Leisure Services Manager to join one of the largest sport and leisure providers in the region.They will lead the Sport and Service Development team and support the Operations Manager in the day to day running of the Sport and Leisure Service. We are looking for someone that can demonstrate and evidence strong financial growth in the sport and fitness industry through business development,innovation and product development. They will also be able to build strong partnerships that create mutual success.
The right person will bring knowledge in developing commercially viable programmes,including strong budget management and an understanding of managing membership schemes. They will know how to grow participation levels through physical activity and turn these into income generators to support their sustainability.They will also understand the wider sport and physical landscape and have goodknowledge of the sector nationally.
Weare looking for someone that is able to build teams and manage a team that isconsistently high performing and to be able to help us achieve our goal of being ‘The Employer of Choice’ in Ipswich for Sport and Leisure. They will havea passion for working with people including having strong customer service related skills.

The Sports and Leisure Service Manager will be expected to work closely with the Sport and Leisure Services Manager – Sports Facilities and Operations in managing the day to day operations of the service.

Day to day
This is a varied role that will see the post holder undertake a variety of duties including managing their team to perform to the highest level. They will oversee the sport and fitness programme, the iCard membership scheme, the swimming lesson programme, the commercial training offer, the service’s commercial activities including the retail offer across all centres and the day to day sport and physical activity development programme. You will be expected to lead the strategic relationship with the Marketing and Communications team and lead our stakeholder engagement including with customers and external partners such as the local CSP, County Council, NGBs and other local voluntary sector organisations.
About you
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent.
