Sport Development Officer – British Cycling

12 month Fixed Term contract
British Cycling is the internationally recognised sports governing body for cycling in the UK and our continued growth is built on the successful delivery of results at elite level and developing the grass roots of our sport.

It’s an exciting place to work, with the organisation at the centre of a once in a generation opportunity to develop the sport. We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, appropriately qualified individual to join us in the above role.

The post holder will be required to plan, deliver and evaluate a co-ordinated programme of high quality, professional coaching activities to reflect the needs of young people in the local community and to link school, community and club provision. There will also be a Sports Development element to the role to focus on the development of potential future cycling infrastructure.

The hours of work are 37.5 per week, working 5 days out of 7 with regular weekend and evening work

We require a highly motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team and make a positive contribution to the achievement of team objectives. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and enthusiastic coach with experience of coaching young people within a range of different environments and demonstrate the relevant knowledge and experience of sports development. You must also hold a UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling qualification (or equivalent).

The post holder will be required to reside within British Cycling’s North West region and preferably within easy commuting distance to Bolton, or be willing to relocate as appropriate.
