Job Description
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is committed to providing high quality sporting opportunities for its students and staff, irrespective of their ability. The NTU Sport vision is to see at least 75% of students regularly participating in sport and / or following an active healthy lifestyle by 2022. our Sport Development team provides a range of support services to a variety of student sports clubs. This role will seek to increase participation in sport amongst NTU students, whilst also improving NTU’s success in competition.
The role will support a number of our sports clubs which currently include Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Belly dancing, Burlesque, Cheerleading, Dance, Dodgeball, Gymnastics, Handball, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Pole Dancing, Taekwondo ITF & WTF, Thai Boxing and Trampolining. The successful candidate would be responsible for ensuring all sports maximise their potential and support the development of these clubs and their coaches. The individual will be well organised and committed to the development of NTU sport.
Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers would be essential. The successful candidate will be expected to support volunteers and paid coaches to increase participation and enhance the student experience within our sports clubs in conjunction with other members of staff. You will support in the design and delivery of our training programme for committee members and help to deal with student behaviour issues following the NTU Sports Behaviour Standards and NTU Student Code of Conduct.
The successful candidate will be conscientious with good communication and organisational skills. In addition, you will need to be adaptable and have a flexible approach to work with availability to work evenings and weekends where necessary. You will also be required to work at least two university open days on behalf of NTU Sport each year.

Successful applicants will usually be appointed to the base of the advertised salary grade, except in justifiable circumstances.
