Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team to ensure learners and tutors are fully supported and engaged within the apprenticeship and traineeships programme.
This is a valuable role within the Employability Department as the successful applicant will be responsible for the elements of the delivery and assessment of learners as well as the overall verification of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship programme.
The successful applicant is required to have excellent knowledge, understanding and practical experience of working with apprentices and be able to communicate effectively with the learners and their employers. The ability to multi-task and deal with conflicting priorities is essential. We are looking for an individual that can work as part of a team but who also has the ability to use their initiative and be pro-active. The successful applicant must have good attention to detail.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. To provide project management to the delivery of the Sport Structures Apprenticeship
programme
2. To support the delivery, assessment and verification of the Apprenticeship programme
3. To provide support and guidance to the Apprenticeship workforce where required
4. To support the development of qualification and course materials such as learning programmes, associated resources and templates
5. Support the development of the tutor/assessor workforce through the organisation, delivery and review of tutor and assessor workforce days and provide appraisal and development action plans for members of the workforce.
6. To manage learners both through assessment of hard copy work and the use of online portfolio software such as OneFile. Provide appropriate reports and guidance to learners and awarding bodies on progress of the learners.
7. Work closely with funding partners to ensure that performance targets are met and any under-performance is addressed with the Business Manager – Employability.
8. Ensure reviews of learners are to the required standard and these are filed accordingly.
9. Work closely with the Marketing Executive to develop relevant case studies and share good practice to partners / clients.
10. To be able to communicate effectively with programme employer partners and clients such as Private Coaching Providers, Education Institutions, National Governing Bodies and referral partners such as Job Centre Plus.
11. To support and undertake the administration, analysis and collation of research information to include telephone interviews, site assessment visits, database administration, web searching, data checking and verification, data analysis and other such duties to support research projects.
12. To input into draft reports and attend appropriate meetings
13. To undertake appropriate training and development opportunities.
14. To ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees and the public by complying with the appropriate Health and Safety Policies, Organisations and Arrangements and the employment of Safe Working Practices and Risk Assessment and Management.
15. To comply with the No Smoking policy.
16. To undertake such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post, and to assist the division in the fulfilment of its overall objectives, commensurate with the post holders’ contract.
