Sport Programme Coordinator – University of Strathclyde Sports Union

Job Description
The University of Strathclyde Sports Union (USSU), located in Glasgow City Centre, is the coordinating body for organised sport at the University of Strathclyde.
USSU is a constituent group of Strathclyde Students Union and integrated working partner of Strathclyde Sport, the University’s sport and recreation department. Together, we recognise the importance of an active lifestyle in both the experience that it provides our shared student audience as well as the positive impact that it can have on their wellbeing.
USSU seeks to appoint a Sport Programme Coordinator to work within the Sport Coordinator team and support effective delivery of the club sport work stream within the wider University of Strathclyde sport programme, specifically the core administration and logistical planning of all student sport fixtures, competitions and events.

Based out of the £31m Strathclyde Sport campus facility, you will take responsibility for coordinating the effective administration and communication of the competitive student sport fixtures and competitions calendar, including British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) and Scottish Student Sport (SSS) frameworks, ensuring weekly sports team fixtures are organised and provide students with a high-quality experience.
You will be a keen team player with experience of sport administration (paid or voluntary), possessing the ability to build strong working relationships with student volunteers and staff in other departments to ensure we provide a full sport development service. Furthermore, you will be required to contribute to the diverse operating plan for sport by taking a leading role on key events and development initiatives that aim to increase engagement and enhance the student experience, such as the Come & Try taster sport programme and Glasgow Cup varsity.
Consequently, you must be able to balance both administrative duties and club development opportunities within the role.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with experience of sport administration and coordinating programme opportunities within a comparable environment.
