Edinburgh University Sports Union seeks an energetic and proactive Sports Coordinator to join the team to coordinate our volunteering and participation programmes. This is an exciting post for anyone with a sports administration background and a passion for student sport.
At Edinburgh University Sports Union, our Sports Coordinator – Volunteering and Participation will contribute to the management and development of our volunteering programme through the Coaching and Volunteering Academy and coordinate the participation programmes through maximising opportunities available to all Edinburgh University students.

Main Responsibilities:
Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering
1. Coordinate the EUSU Coaching and Volunteering Academy (CVA) and its programme in collaboration with the Sports Programme Manager. Ensuring a full programme, with opportunities for EUSU Coaches, officials and volunteers
2. Coordinate EUSU’S Edinburgh Awards, to offer Club officials a learning opportunity that culminates in official recognition
3. Coordinate and review the training for Club officials and development needs to ensure a quality year-long programme for Professional Development
4. Act as Operational Lead on the Wallace Group. This involves coordinating the Volunteer Zambia project within The University of Edinburgh
Participation
1. Develop and coordinate the EDex programme (including Taster,s Sports Fest and Learn to Play offering) ensuring a full calendar of events, targeted at students not currently partaking in sport.
2. Coordinate the University of Edinburgh Stressbuster programme, as part of Sport at Edinburgh’s Boost Your Mood campaign.
3. Work with partners throughout the University, i.e. Edinburgh University Students’ Association, to deliver participation sports events to the wider student body.
4. Represent EUSU, along with the EUSU President, at University meetings regarding participation, i.e. Participation Grant panel.
Wellbeing and inclusion
1. Support EUSU Inclusion Committee with recruitment, remits and purpose. This will focus heavily on the use of data around underrepresented groups to drive decision-making and activity
2. Develop and nurture links with the Students’ Association around developing an aligned approach to ensure sport at Edinburgh is open-to-all. This may involve aligning remits of Inclusion Committee and Liberation Officers; working together on specific campaigns, or co-opting key individuals onto the relevant committees
3. Coordinate diversity and equality campaigns with Sports President, EUSU Wellbeing Officer, Sport & Exercise, and other partners where appropriate. These campaigns include Mental Health & Wellbeing Week, LGBT+ History Month, etc.
