Job Description
Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity set up in 1996 by Chairman Steve Gibson. We use the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in an expanding project in East Cleveland, working with a professional football club charity and local schools, engaging and inspiring young people with a specific focus on transition from Year 6 to Year 7. We’re looking for a professional, enthusiastic, self-motivated role model to help young people reach their potential and maintain the momentum as they make what can be a difficult step from primary school into the less familiar and comfortable environment of secondary education. Whilst sport and activity will be central to the role, mentoring, pastoral attention and advocacy skills will be essential.

The Role:
• Delivering the Schools Transition programme within East Cleveland
• Liaising with Senior Leadership teams within schools, Local Authority representatives and support agencies to ensure project success
• Supporting the Coordinator in ensuring all project targets are met and creating a bespoke programme in schools
• Carrying out administrative duties as necessary, i.e. attendance records, registers, quality assurance and maintaining monitoring systems
• Delivering the out-of-school-hours programme

Candidates must:
• Have experience of delivering educational workshops and sports provision within disadvantages communities, as well as experience in running and developing extra-curricular activities
• Be flexible since the role requires evening and weekend working (including match days)
• Possess exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Have a positive attitude and a strong focus on teamwork
• Possess a strong commitment to quality service delivery and monitoring and evaluating programme delivery
• Have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and the use of databases
• Be respectful and committed to promoting diversity and equal opportunities and have a good level of understanding of social inclusion and the issues facing young people from disadvantaged communities
• Possess a Level 2 sporting qualification (preferably football) and additional NGB multi-sport qualifications
• Hold an Emergency First Aid Certificate and Certificate in Safeguarding, or be willing to work towards
• Be eligible to work in the UK, hold a UK Driving License and own transport
