Role:
This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to play a key part in the physical preparation of an elite, specialised group within the British Military. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Physical Preparation, and is expected to contribute significantly towards the development and evolution of the Human Performance Program. The group will not be identified within this advert and will remain anonymous until interview.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Monitoring & Delivery:
• Frequently plan and deliver physical preparation sessions on an individual and group basis to both operators and support staff
• Coordinate, plan and deliver regular physical performance testing in order to collect up-to-date information on operators’ physical preparation
• Enter and analyse collected data, in order to inform the Head of Physical
Preparation and Performance Director on key metrics to optimise the development of individuals within the human performance program
• Manage the online programming of operators & support staff
• Research & Innovation:
• Assist the Head of Physical Preparation with ongoing research into the current and emerging physical demands facing UK operators, in order to remain at the forefront of evidence-based Physical Preparation
• Challenge status quo, identify areas for improvement and provide innovative solutions
• Stay up to date on advancements within both Strength & Conditioning and other fields, which may be utilised to enhance the Physical Preparation of UK operators
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Frequently communicate and collaborate with stakeholders and interdisciplinary staff within the Human Performance team, in order to optimise the physical preparation of UK operators
Requirements:
• Education / Qualifications:
• Undergraduate Degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or related discipline)
• Master’s degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or related discipline) preferred, though not essential
• UKSCA / NSCA / ASCA Accreditation (or ability to achieve within 12 months)
• Must hold a valid UK Passport & Full UK Driving License, with no previous criminal convictions (CRB Certificate necessary)
• In-date First Aid certificate
• Experience:
• Minimum 3 years coaching athletes or military personnel (experience working with elite males is preferable, though not essential)
• Experience coaching and demonstrating Olympic Weightlifting movements, jumping / landing mechanics, and sprinting / running / COD mechanics to both individuals and large groups (20+)
• Experience utilising sport science software (Athlete Monitoring Systems, Velocity Based Training, GPS, HRV, etc.) preferred, though not essential

Excellent communication skills, with a demonstratable ability to build strong interpersonal relationships across a variety of individuals, including athletes and peers. Upon application, please provide three contactable referees – one athlete, one superior peer and one subordinate peer
• Hours:
• Whilst the successful candidate will be expected to work 30 hours a week on average, flexibility is important to meet the needs of the job
Remuneration:
• In accordance with industry standards, remuneration will be provided to the successful candidate, due to the significant contribution of time and effort towards enhancing and evolving the Human Performance Program. This will be discussed at interview.
